Ms KAO Sokunpharady joined Youth Star in August 2015, bringing with her a vast amount of experience belying her age. Of crucial value is her understanding of volunteerisms importance, garnered through her internships with the Ministry of Women’s Affairs and Junior Chamber Movement. In these roles she worked with marginalized communities with specific attention towards vulnerable women and children.
In 2014 Pharady started working as the Project Coordinator for Caring for Young Khmer’. In this role she gained hands-on experience in working in early childhood care supplemented with skills in promoting development through education.
As a Program Officer for Youth Star she is critically responsible for supporting and coordinating the volunteer program activities, as well as participating in the planning and implementation of strategic objectives. Further contributions include the undertaking of training needs assessment and delivery for both volunteers, and their host communities, as well as the promotion of the importance of a national volunteer service in Cambodia.
Pharady holds a bachelor’s degree from the Institute of Foreign Languages and Royal University of Law and Economics, majoring in Education in English and Public Administration.
